Surface Mounted Spotlights
Surface-mounted ceiling spotlights stand out for their simple installation, as they are placed directly on the ceiling without the need for recessing, making them a practical and versatile option for both residential and commercial projects. The most common designs are cylindrical and square models with a minimalist aesthetic that can easily fit into different types of decorative environments. Typically, they are available in neutral tones such as black and white; however, bolder colours like gold or copper are becoming increasingly popular, as they are not only functional but also excellent decorative options. Surface spotlights produce ambient lighting and are suitable for smaller spaces or spaces with low ceilings, such as kitchens, offices, and hallways. Additionally, many models feature swivel heads that allow precise light direction, making them ideal for highlighting elements in dressing rooms, shop windows, or work areas. Thanks to LED technology, they provide efficient energy consumption and optimal performance.

Criteria for choosing a surface spotlight
- Number of spotlights: calculate in lux (lumens per square metre) the amount of light needed for each type of room. In work areas (offices or kitchens), 400 to 600 lux per m² is required, while rest areas (bedrooms or living rooms) need 100 to 300 lux. Ensure even distribution to avoid shadows, leaving 1 to 1.5 metres of space between spotlights.
- Colour temperature (K): for work areas, choose cool white light (4000K-5000K), while for rest areas, warm light (2700K-3000K) is more suitable.
- Colours and design: opt for neutral finishes (black or white) with simple, minimalist designs, or choose decorative finishes for a personalised touch.
- Adjustable head: models with adjustable heads are useful for directing light to specific points, such as artwork, work areas, shelves, or dressing rooms.
- Protection rating (IP): select the appropriate IP rating based on the room. Use IP20 or higher for interior spaces like living rooms or bedrooms, IP44 or higher for wet areas such as bathrooms or kitchens, and IP65 or higher for exteriors or areas exposed to water.
- Dimmable light: in spaces where adjusting the light intensity is necessary—such as living rooms, bedrooms, or restaurants—dimmable spotlights provide greater versatility and energy savings.
- Energy efficiency: give priority to LED technology bulbs for their low energy consumption, long lifespan, and minimal heat generation.
