Egbert-Jan Lam, from Burojet Design Studio, based in the Netherlands, designed the family of STITCHES lamps. Each lamp has its own distinctive pattern and takes the name of a town or city in the West African nation of Mali. Lzf has chosen four names from these villages to name the four versions offered by the Stitches family: MOPTI, TOMBUCTÚ, BAMAKO and DJENNE. To make them, the veneer is sewn in the purest traditional sewing style: a pattern is drawn, the piece is marked and cut. Thus each part. To complete the piece, a hem is used which is visible and allows light to shine through. The shape of each STITCHES lamp is an allusion to the mosques found in Mali not only because of its shape, but also because of the long tradition as an embroidery producer. These unusual lamps that attract any look for their original design are available in a variety of colors, so it is possible to combine them in any room of the house or use them for various projects. The recommended light source is E27 CFL Globe 1x23 W max. (not included). No assembly required.
