In 1987, they founded the firm D&D Design in Barcelona, devoted to design, primarily product designs. D&D Design believes in the “idea” within objects. They understand “idea” in its broadest sense, not just at the functional-operational level but through a global concept of the object, the visual, tactile and olfactory sensations, in the belief that objects must be alive (some are more serene while others are more dynamic), the communication of a "something else" spirit which brings it to life. The object never abandons the function of serving the person who requires it and if possible, the greatest number of users; it must also “function” based on its easy manufacture, the recyclable nature of its components, storage and transport, always seeking innovative solutions for timely problems. In a living room, a shop or a public space, this “idea” of knowing how to live represents definitive progress towards enhanced well-being.
